A Relayed Honour: Welcoming the High Commissioner of Fiji at Whales' Dandenong Office

We fondly recall the exuberant celebration of the Na Virikawakawa Festival in the vibrant Dandenong Region of greater Melbourne. Amidst the excitement surrounding this event, an extraordinary opportunity presented itself as we had the distinguished privilege of welcoming the High Commissioner of Fiji, His Excellency David Kolitagane, to our Whales Dandenong office.

High Commissioner Kolitagane's illustrious background includes serving as the Permanent Secretary for Rural & Maritime Development and Disaster Management from 2019 to 2022, as well as holding significant positions such as Permanent Secretary for Agriculture in 2018-2019, Public Enterprises in 2016-2017, and Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport from 2017 to 2019. His extensive knowledge and experiences from these esteemed roles brought forth invaluable insights that greatly benefit Whales and resonate in our support of PALM workers on the front line.

During our constructive discussions, a rich tapestry of feedback and ideas was exchanged, all aimed at achieving our communal goals and facilitating the individual and mutual success of PALM participants. The wisdom shared by High Commissioner Kolitagane was thoughtfully captured by Whales directors, Jay and Julie. These insights will serve as a compass for our entire team, guiding our approach to cultural awareness between nations and informing the implementation of practical measures to achieve the highest standards of our practice.

At Whales, we are fully committed to cultivating a hub that ensures our PALM employees enjoy an exceptional experience while they work and reside in Australia. We embrace the opportunity to create an environment that nurtures their growth and well-being, and we wholeheartedly appreciate the wisdom and guidance imparted by High Commissioner Kolitagane.

The occasion of his visit stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of collaboration and cultural exchange, bolstering our commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive community for PALM workers.
